Frequently Asked Questions

Below you’ll find answers to some common questions around creating a custom box.
Every order is little different though, so don’t hesitate to reach out with anything else you might be wondering.

Glass perfume bottles range significantly in weight and fragility. A one-size-fits-all insert often results in either excessive packaging costs or insufficient kinetic shock absorption during transit, leading to breakage and product loss.

We provide tiered structural solutions based on your specific bottle design, target budget, and shipping method. For lightweight vials, precision die-cut cardboard or standard EVA is usually sufficient. For heavy luxury vessels (150g+), we can engineer advanced cavities using CNC-routed foams or molded pulp to meet rigorous ISTA drop-test standards upon your request.

Industrial adhesives and standard foam inserts naturally emit Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) during the curing process. If packed too quickly, these trapped chemical odors can easily overpower or contaminate the delicate top notes of a premium fragrance upon unboxing.

Odor control is achievable based on your requirements. We can upgrade production to utilize low-VOC, water-based adhesives. Furthermore, we offer extended, controlled ventilation periods within our facility before final master carton packing to ensure the boxes arrive with a neutral scent.

Poorly fitted inserts cause bottles to rattle, which can scratch electroplated caps or damage spray nozzles. Achieving a vacuum-like fitment requires calculating exact material shrinkage rates based on your physical bottle, but the initial setup costs vary widely by material.

Tooling costs scale with your chosen solution. Standard die-cut cardboard or basic EVA incurs very low tooling fees. If your project demands ultra-precise fitment or 100% plastic-free molded pulp, it requires custom aluminum molds or CNC routing, which involves a higher initial investment but offers superior performance and unit economics for high-volume orders.

Dark, matte, and highly saturated printed surfaces are notoriously prone to showing greasy fingerprints during retail handling and micro-scratches during transit friction. This surface degradation can immediately ruin the perceived value of a luxury perfume.

While standard matte lamination is our baseline finish, we offer specific surface upgrades for premium product lines. For dark designs, we highly recommend applying Anti-Scratch (AS) coating or specialized Anti-Fingerprint laminations. These treatments effectively protect the ink layer and maintain a pristine, velvet-smooth finish throughout the product’s retail lifecycle.
