A finished game set is more than printed artwork. Card counts, puzzle dimensions, booklets, dividers, product fit and the opening experience all affect the final packaging structure.

Find the Right Structure for Your Set.
Compare five packaging styles: classic lid-and-base boxes, shoulder neck card boxes, flip-top cartons, book-style rigid boxes and shaped carry cases. Match the opening, interior layout and packed capacity to your components.
Lid & Base Boxes
A separate lift-off lid fits over a base. Review the lid overlap, packed capacity and opening clearance for jigsaw pieces or a card stack.
- Classic separate lid and base
- Capacity developed from the finished packed components
- Optional liners, dividers and leaflet space
Shoulder & Neck Card Boxes
A raised inner collar guides the separate lid, with the outer lid and base developed for a flush fit. The flash-card example has an angled-cut inner collar. Collar profiles and deck arrangements are specified for each project.
- Separate lid, base and structural inner collar
- Angled collar profile shown in the flash-card example
- Lid engagement and card access reviewed together
Flip-Top Card Boxes
A retained folding end flap provides access to the printed card stack. Review the crease, closure and deck clearance together for activity cards, learning decks and compact retail packs.
- Integrated fold-open closure for repeat access
- Card stack sizing and pack depth tailored to the deck
- Custom artwork, paperboard and closing-tab options
Book-Style Rigid Game Boxes
Book-opening rigid boxes suit premium card games, activity sets and multi-deck collections. Tailored compartments can keep printed cards and instructions in place.
- Distinctive book-style opening experience
- Multiple fitted compartments for separate decks
- Optional ribbons and closure details reviewed by project
Creative Carry Cases
Distinctive shapes and integrated carrying features can add character to puzzle and activity-kit packaging.
- Custom die-cut contours
- Designed for repeated opening
- Special hardware subject to specification
Details That Work With Your Set.
Review the printed parts, cut edges and interior together. Each material choice starts with the components your box needs to hold.

Cards, Paper & Print
Specify the finished card size, stack height and leaflet separately from the box board. Review artwork, color and surface feel with the selected paper.

Puzzle Board & Cut Edges
Review piece size, board stiffness and the cut pattern together. Check edge quality during sampling, then size the box around the packed pieces and any bags.

Compartments & Interior Fit
Plan deck wells, dividers and guidebook space around the finished contents. Allow clearance for wrapping, easy removal and the chosen lid or inner collar.
Choosing paper & board
The box construction, filled weight and handling guide the outer board and wrap-paper choice. Specify card or puzzle stock separately from the packaging board. Review stiffness, the opening and component fit with the finished sample before confirming material calipers.
Approving color & finishes
Share the artwork, color references and intended finish. CMYK or Pantone printing, matte or gloss treatments, soft-touch, foil and spot UV are reviewed against the selected paper and design. The sample scope identifies which print and finish effects are included for approval.
Measuring the interior
Provide each deck's finished size and full stack height, the closed guidebook including its binding, or the bagged puzzle volume. Include leaflets and wrapping. For shoulder neck boxes, review the collar profile and lid fit alongside any separately specified dividers or card wells.

Quality Points for Your Sample
A Clear Route to Production.
Explore the five stages of a custom set, from your first component list to sampling, production and packing.
List every printed part, accessory and pack-in. Share your estimated order quantity, target users and delivery country so the supply scope can be reviewed.
Review the dieline, board panels and finished box dimensions alongside the packed components. For a carry case, confirm curved corners, handle and closure positions before sampling.
Compare the assembled sample with the approved dieline and artwork. Check the opening, edge wrapping, handle, closure and interior fit before confirming production.
Coordinate the approved printed wraps, cut board panels and box forming. Assembly follows the agreed structure, hardware placement and finishing details.
Review the agreed quality points, included parts and packing sequence. Confirm protective packing, carton requirements and delivery arrangements for the project.
Structural & printed samples
A structural sample reviews dimensions, the opening, collar profile and component fit. A printed sample reviews artwork, color direction and selected finishes. The quotation identifies the sample type, included processes, cost and timing.
Quotation & approval scope
Confirm box-only or complete-set supply, the card or puzzle specification, inserts, printing, assembly and outer packing. Production follows the agreed specification and approved sample. Review artwork or component changes before the schedule is fixed.
Packing & delivery
List the component count and packing sequence for each set. Share the delivery country and required date so protective packing, carton arrangement, freight options and the production schedule can be reviewed together.
Before You Start.
Practical answers for purchasing teams, educational publishers and game brands planning their next project.
Can you produce the printed cards and the packaging together?
Yes. Packprince can coordinate custom printed paper cards, compatible puzzle components and their packaging. The exact items and assembly scope are confirmed after reviewing your project.
What is the minimum order quantity for a complete game kit?
Our minimum order quantity is 500 sets. Pricing and production specifications depend on the card or puzzle count, materials, printing, box structure and assembly requirements. Please share your complete component list for an accurate quote.
Can I customize card size, puzzle pieces and the box dimensions?
These specifications can be customized within production and tooling limits. We recommend confirming product sizes, piece counts, pack-out arrangement and artwork during sampling.
Can you help with storage inserts and dividers?
Yes. Paperboard dividers, card wells, fitted trays and other insert options can be reviewed according to the number, weight and dimensions of the game components.
Can you prepare samples before bulk production?
Sampling options are available for review of print quality, shape, fit and packaging structure. Sample costs and timelines depend on the number of designs and processes involved.
Are your products certified for children’s toy safety?
Applicable testing and documentation depend on the finished product, intended age group and destination market. Tell us your compliance requirements at quotation stage; no universal toy-safety certification is implied by this page.
What should I include in my quotation request?
Please share component dimensions, cards or puzzle-piece count, box style, target quantity, artwork or reference photos, delivery country and desired timeline.
How do you size a jigsaw puzzle box?
Confirm the finished puzzle dimensions, board specification and packed piece volume, including a bag and reference sheet where supplied. These define the base capacity and lid clearance. Piece count alone does not determine the box size.
Can I order the packaging without the printed components?
Yes. Specify packaging-only supply or a coordinated printed set. The quotation lists the box, interior parts, cards or puzzle pieces, instructions and assembly included in one set so the scope is clear before sampling.
